The hotel is situated on Sands Road with panoramic views across Torbay. We are a family hotel; with the lower ground, ground and first floors all being non-smoking, we do however offer smoking rooms on the 2nd floor. We offer a high standard of service to all ages of guests. The hotel has been owned by sisters Christine Lomax and Janet Butler since October 2005. The hotel has undergone a refurbishment programme and we continue to upgrade and renew on a regular basis. Chris and Janet take advantage of the courses offered by Quality in Tourism, Welcome Host, and Risk Assessment etc. in order to both maintain and improve the services offered to our guests.
The Paignton Bus and Train stations are approximately a ten minute level walk
ARRIVAL – CAR-PARKING FACILITIES:
The main Guest entrance is situated on Sands Road; there are 7steps to the front entrance, with a handrail on one side. You are welcome to check-in any time after 3pm and up to 11pm – any later and we expect to be advised. Early check-in is available during low season by prior agreement. On arrival you will have to ring the front door bell as the main door is kept locked at all times for the safety and security of our guests and their property.
There is a bus stop approximately eighty metres level walking from the front of the hotel.
MAIN ENTRANCE AND RECEPTION:
On arrival at the front door the reception is straight in front of you. The Lounge is to the left and the Dining Room is to your right, there are no steps to these rooms.
If required registration Forms can be completed whilst seated in the Lounge.
Room 1 can be located on the ground floor and has level access to the guests lounge and dining room and direct access to the sun decking at the rear of the hotel via a private door
Rooms 2 and 18 can be located on the first floor via a flight of 12 stairs then a further flight of 2 stairs.
Rooms 3 – 7 can be located on the first floor via a further flight of 5 stairs.
Rooms 8 – 16 can be located on the second floor via another 2 flights of 8 stairs each.
PUBLIC AREAS:
Tourist information leaflets, maps, eating guides etc. are available in the reception area.
The Lounge and Dining Room all have short pile carpeting and are without steps. The Lounge has comfortable seating with a 32 inch colour television with Freeview and DVD player. Selections of DVD’s are available for guest use whilst on the premises.
All tables are double clothed, with Kings Cutlery and black and white crockery all matching; our colour theme is peach and white in this room.
All guests are allocated their own table with the same number as their room.
At breakfast you can go to your table and help yourselves to cereal, fruit juice, fruit etc. Staff will take your order for beverages and your cooked breakfast. There are menus on all tables and the staff are more than happy to help you make your choices for both breakfast and dinner. Please advise the staff of any dietary requirements and we will do our best to help.
The Bar is situated on the lower ground floor via a flight of 14 stairs .The Bar area is furbished with wooden tables and stools with a number of high level stools being available at the bar.
